Tue, 18 Nov 2008 22:32:04 PST- The Yellow Jackets haven't been playing the same quality of football they were at the start of the season. In fact, aside from an ugly 10-7 win over Gardner-Webb in early October, Georgia Tech Football may have played its worst game of the season in its last time out, a 28-7 loss at North Carolina.
In contrast, Miami appears to be putting things together for a run at an ACC title.
"Certainly, you can see they have made some strides from where they started," said Tech coach Paul Johnson of the Hurricanes, who will visit Bobby Dodd Stadium Thursday night. "They have stayed fairly healthy, which is important in getting better too. It's hard to get better if you are not out there."
Injuries have definitely played a factor in the Yellow Jackets' recent sluggishness.

Sat, 08 Nov 2008 14:37:17 PST-North Carolina's defense hung in against Georgia Tech's triple-option attack long enough for the offense to finally get moving. It was enough to give the No. 19 Tar Heels a critical win in their muddled Atlantic Coast Conference division race. Ryan Houston ran for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to help North Carolina beat the 22nd-ranked Yellow Jackets 28-7 on Saturday, ensuring their first...

Wed, 19 Nov 2008 05:00:10 GMT- SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: Most believed Georgia Tech's offense would improve throughout the season, as players became more comfortable in first-year coach Paul Johnson's option offense.
But the Yellow Jackets have not moved the ball as efficiently in November. And now they face a stiff Miami defense, ranked 10th in the nation.
"It's fun to watch them [Miami] play defense," said Tech coach Paul Johnson. "They play hard, run to the ball well and fly around.
Wed, 19 Nov 2008 05:00:10 GMT- THIS WEEK'S GAME: Miami at Georgia Tech, Nov. 20 -- The Yellow Jackets have owned this series, winning three straight and seven of the last nine. But Miami's playing better football coming into Thursday night's ACC clash.
Winner upgrades its bowl case significantly.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
B-back Jonathan Dwyer -- The ACC's leading rusher is usually good for at least one big play a game. Georgia Tech Football is 6-1 when Dwyer goes over 100 yards.
